bentong pahang

Bentong is a small town in the state of Pahang. What make it interesting is not the town itself, but the resorts and relaxing spots near Bentong. It is very likely that it had the largest number of tourist attractions.

What make it better is, these tourist spots are less than an hour of leisure drive from the capital Kuala lumpur.

There are the tourist hot spots:

1. Genting Highland.
Even if you are not a gambler, there are alot to do and see in the resort town. The cool weather is the added value for the city folks to relax and unwind after days of hard work.
- the cable cars will take you above the beautiful tropical forest.
- theme park - for you or the children to enjoy the rides. You may like to give a try on Reindeer Cruiser or the Ferris wheel.
- Try the Dinosaurland Theme Park. The children will love to journey millions of years in time to the days of the giant animals.

Glancing at the Google search, Genting Highland seem to attract more searchers than the Bentong district itself. Technically Genting Highland is in Bentong, but Genting had grew and now bigger than Bentong.

2. Lentang recreation park
Situated on the highway to Bentong and about 40 minutes drive from Kuala Lumpur. Suitable for half day outing with family. You can take a dip in the tropical stream with cool water. During raining season, the water level can be high and unsutable for picnic and bathing. The raining season is Nov to January.

These two locations are in my state of Pahang. I normally pass through Lentang Park on my way to my home town Lipis. I use to stop for a swim when my sons were small.

Another waterfall spot is the Chamang waterfall. It is further and to reach it you have to exit the highway after the Bentong toll both, towards the town of Bentong. About 5 km from Bentong, there is a junction on you left. Then driving through plantation and secondary jungle, you will reach the site after about 10 minutes.
