The Malay Sultanate is Sultan centered. The old saying was, there cannot be a country without the Sultan. In the event on the attack by external forces, when the sultan was chased out the state ceased to exist.
The culture was also sultan centered. The palace has their own team of dancers. The palace cultural teams were keeping the culture alive.
