Sunday Market Temerloh

Sunday market is the traditional direct marketing concept in Malaysia. Its history dated back to the days prior to the coming of the British. A fix day of the week is designated as the market day, in Temerloh is Sunday and the nearby towns or villages, it can be other days.

If it is on sunday it is known as pekan Ahad, Pekan can be translated as small town or market and Ahad is Sunday, the first day of the week for traditional Malay.

If you have the opportunity then, come over to see how the local do the trading. You can see the two groups of traders, the simple villagers who sell things they produced on their own and the middle men, who make their living by by becoming the middle men.

Location
The Sunday Market is located on the river bank, stretching from the mini- stadium to the round about near the mosque. The road is closed on Sunday from 06.30 am to 1300 hrs.
